Seaside Retailer has been busy this spring to continue to be a resource for beach, coastal and nautical retailers.

April 14, 2020

Spring 2020 has been unlike any other most of us have experienced. People look forward to spring break either as a time to party with friends on the beach or take a family vacation. This year, spring certainly brought us a break, but it wasn’t the kind of break we were anticipating.

As an information source for beach, coastal and nautical retailers, Seaside Retailer has been closely monitoring the impact coronavirus is having on shops and boutiques in coastal areas. We’ve talked to many store owners and managers over the past several weeks about how they were adapting to new guidelines calling for social distancing, limiting crowds and keeping stores disinfected. We hope that by the time you are reading this issue, some of those strict rules will have eased up and it’s business as usual once again.

Yet despite these setbacks, many retailers have figured out ways to continue operating. You’ve pumped up your online presence, are taking orders by phone, offering curbside pickup and shipping items to customers. That effort to keep reaching customers is a testament to the perseverance of this industry.

You’ll do whatever it takes to keep your customers coming back and happy. I have every confidence that once life returns to normal, your stores will come out even stronger than before because of going that extra mile.

Seaside Retailer has been doing its part to ensure we are providing retailers quality content they can use to be successful. Our quarterly print publication, monthly news and product newsletters, and our website are all filled with articles and products that are relevant to your business.

We’ve put countless hours of research into our subscriber list, making sure the stores that meet our target demographic are receiving the magazine. That includes gift shops, souvenir stores, boutiques, surf shops, zoos and aquariums that specialize in beach, coastal and nautical merchandise. If you’re one of the 10,000 retailers who received this issue, we hope you view it as a resource you can refer to time and again.

We also launched a new website, www.seasideretailer.com. We worked with talented web developers to design a clean, user-friendly design so that you can easily access the latest news, back issues of the magazine, product ideas and events that you’ll find useful.

We know this environment we are in is new territory for all of us. Even in these uncertain times, you can count on Seaside Retailer to help you navigate through the storm.
