Starfish Award Winner: Boca Boutique

Boca Boutique in Sarasota is more than a coastal lifestyle shop — it’s a space designed to inspire, uplift and bring people together. Owner Dixi Robertson opened the shop with her husband several years ago. After his passing last spring, the boutique has become an even deeper reflection of resilience, creativity and community.

“I wanted a place where people could walk in and feel joy — in their homes, in themselves and in this community,” says Robertson, who blends her eye for interior design with a desire to create meaningful moments. “It’s always been about connection. We’re here for each other — through the good and the hard.”

Rooted in the community

Giving back has been at the heart of Boca Boutique. “To whom much is given, much is expected,” says Robertson, relating how the shop regularly partners with organizations that are rooted in Sarasota and woven into her own life.

Robertson has long supported Team Tony Cancer Foundation, hosting an annual cancer awareness weekend in October when a percentage of sales benefits the nonprofit. “No one should go through it alone,” she says. “They’re doing incredibly important work.”

Shining stars

Other initiatives include supporting Big Water Land Trust and welcoming groups to host fundraising nights. Robertson chooses each partnership thoughtfully.

A recent partnership benefited Suncoast Stars Community, an organization supporting adults with disabilities. Boca Boutique hosted an event featuring handmade cards they created. “It felt wonderful to support them,” Robertson says. “These are our neighbors.”
