Tidewater Sandals recognized the increasing popularity of periwinkle with its 2022 collection. Two of its sandals, Boardwalk – Periwinkle Starfish and Nantuckets feature the purple hue.
Micheal Smith, owner of Tidewater Sandals since 2020, says, “We looked at consumer preferences and worldwide design trends and realized 2022 would be the year of periwinkle. It’s a happy, regal and soothing color that will help us all transition from the challenge of the past two years to the hope of a new year. This color really rounds out our collection’s overall color palette and works well on our coastal designs and solid colors.”
Tidewater’s creative director, Margi Bartling, created a new collection of printed designs featuring greens, pinks and blues. “The power of periwinkle is shining through our new collection,” she says. “From florals to sea creatures, you’ll find blush pinks … and blue-sky blues from summer on the beach, but my favorite, by far, is our new periwinkle color.”
