David and Francine Barsalou, owners of the coastal home decor wholesale company Davine International, have announced their retirement and closure of the business. The duo founded the company in 2001 after a career in banking.

Initially, they focused on lighthouses and over the years added more home decor items and drinkware. The company grew to offer more than 1,200 products and did custom orders for museums and attractions.

“We would like to thank all our loyal customers for the continued support they afforded our company. The last 20 years brought us much pleasure, and hearing your successful sales stories told us we had the pulse on today’s consumer,” says David.

He adds, “We enjoyed the customer interaction, working with customers on specific projects, advising them on items they should carry and sharing retail feedback from other customers -- all in all the client interaction.”

The couple plans to spend more time with friends and family and travel to parts of Europe, Asia, South America and 12 states in the U.S. they have not been to yet.

“When I left banking, it was easy. I had grown tired of it,” says David. “Leaving this career is bittersweet, but it is still the right decision for us at this time.”
