Minimizing the harsh reactions a body can have while spending time on the beach is an important factor in considering products that customers not only want, but need, for their beach excursions.
Salty Britches owner Amy Tucker developed chafing ointment after seeing how her young son’s skin would chafe after playing in the ocean.
“Nothing on the market held up very well or for very long so we created a clear skin barrier that would prevent the chafing or soothe it after it happened,” says Tucker.
Salty Britches offers three skin-soothing products: Chafing Ointment, Skin Barrier Ointment and Winter Skin Relief.
“The base is lanolin and the ointments bond to the skin and last all day,” says Tucker. “Our retailers love it because it is a consumable product, excellent for impulse buys with a low price point and high margin. Customers love it and recommend it to others.”
