You don’t have to visit the Savannah, Georgia, boutique Sea Oar Be Seen to understand the humor, quirkiness and glamour that make up the store’s vibe. Just check out @seaoarbeseen on Instagram. There you can quickly encounter the antics of store owner Mo Dixon and her sidekick and bff Lauren Denton hamming it up for their Instagram followers.
In those videos Dixon is the outgoing brunette always dressed to perfection and being a goofball while Denton, the blonde in the videos, always appears annoyed by Dixon’s unapologetic spectacles.
The videos kicked off on March 9, 2020, right before the pandemic hit, with Dixon and Denton on a boat and Dixon declaring, “I’m the queen of the world.” Denton just shakes her head, while Dixon shows off the store’s boating accessories.
“A few weeks later the world shut down. Lauren and I immediately made a vow to not stop bringing the laughter in and out of our shop. We’ve heard from so many of you during the last year thanking us for the laughs when at times there wasn’t much to laugh about,” Dixon said one year later when she reposted the video on the stores Instagram page.
Other videos include her and Denton on the road together for tradeshows. Denton of course is rolling her eyes at all the funny things Dixon does in the car.
It’s hard not to crack a smile watching their antics from afar, and one can imagine visiting them in person in the store would conjure even more laughs.
