Every seaside boutique wants to offer that item that is different or unique. RAG Apparel breaks the mold with its resort wear line. The company custom-makes its garments and fabrics using high-quality tri-blends, and instead of solid colors, it applies washes to the fabrics for a distinct look.
“Everything we do either has a wash or a special fabric or a detail,” says owner Ray Galindo.
That could mean a tail feature, a scoop or a razor back, or some kind of wash like a reverse spray. For example, instead of the traditional spiral-wash tie-dye style, RAG gives garments a dual-tone burnout treatment that gives them a two-color heathering effect.
“The fabrics and the treatment are the difference makers,” says Galindo.
