As spring breakers prepare to travel over the next several weeks, AAA lists some top destinations based on AAA Travel booking data.

Many spring break travelers are heading to Florida this year, with four Florida cities on AAA’s top 10 list. AAA says Florida likely dominates this time of year as travelers seek a reliably warm climate to spend time at the beach or enjoy theme parks. Popular Florida vacation cities include Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Tampa.

AAA shares its top 10 list of spring break destinations for 2026:

  • Orlando, Florida
  • Fort Lauderdale, Florida
  • Miami
  • Anaheim/Los Angeles
  • Tampa
  • Honolulu
  • Las Vegas
  • New York
  • Atlanta
  • Chicago

Flights to spring break domestic hot spots are about 2% more expensive this year when compared with 2025, averaging about $815 for roundtrip tickets. Many travelers are also hitting the road, with Orlando, Los Angeles and Phoenix being popular this year with AAA’s rental car partner Hertz.

Ocean cruising also continues to set records this year as AAA projects 21.7 million Americans will take cruise vacations in 2026. Many families book cruises over spring break to get the most out of the week, with the most popular Caribbean itineraries departing from Florida, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas.
