The Silly Goose has made its retail debut this spring as a new coastal kids’ boutique in Harwich Port, Massachusetts, with the owners’ vision to make the spot a one-stop destination for kids’ toys and gifts on Cape Cod.

Co-owners Calista Pons and Allie Daigle hosted a soft opening of the store on March 14, inviting community members to browse the 1,800-square-foot store full of coastal-themed kids’ apparel, plush, puzzles, blankets and more.

“All of our family and friends came out,” says Daigle. “All the locals were so excited, and lots of grandparents in the area were excited to see what we’ve done and what they can buy.”

The Silly Goose is neither of the owners’ first retail foray. In addition to opening the children’s boutique, Pons is also the owner of Sativa and Solis gift boutiques in Harwich Port, while Daigle has served as a manager at both stores. Now, Sativa, Solis and The Silly Goose all sit on the same block in town.

Daigle says she had wanted to expand the children’s category at Sativa for some time but the store lacked the space. When a storefront nearby became available in spring 2025, Pons and Daigle jumped on the opportunity to purchase the building.

“When it came down to deciding what kind of store it could be, we looked at what departments Sativa had grown the most in over the past few years, and that was our children’s department,” Pons explains. “Children’s has done so well for us at Sativa, so strategically this was great.”

“I had really been pushing for children’s to move and expand,” Daigle adds. “I have two young kids, so I know all the brands that I love and use. Calista is also expecting, so she is in that world as well. This just felt like the next move for us.”

In addition to baby and kids’ clothing, The Silly Goose offers a variety of toys and gifts that appeal to anyone ages 0 to 10. Customers can walk through several rooms to browse the variety of gifts and toys, from puzzles and crafts to beach toys and coastal apparel.

“The front room has a beautiful big window that I’ve dreamed about displaying all our goods in,” says Daigle. “It’s the perfect window to merchandise. And then off the back of the store is where our toy room is.”

Pons and Daigle say they hope to host a larger grand opening for the store as peak season approaches for Cape Cod.

“We want this to be the best one-stop toy shop and gift shop for babies and kids in town. There hasn’t been a true toy shop in this part of Cape Cod for a long time,” says Pons. “We would also love to host fun events like Easter egg hunts or story time on the porch in front, especially in summer when we have that influx of customers.”
