What Our Customers Say

As a new business, marketing to retailers seemed a bit overwhelming. It was challenging to try to identify avenues to present our products to retailers with an interest in coastal products like ours. We were thrilled to be contacted by Seaside Retailer and could not be happier with the results! This publication targets retailers who share our coastal focus, and we receive new wholesale inquiries with each publication. Advertising with Seaside Retailer has been one of the best marketing investments we have made.

First, allow me to say that I am a tough sell. As a business owner, I am constantly approached by vendors trying to sell me all kinds of products and services. It was different when Kristin and Karen approached my booth last year. They were two very professional women that took their work seriously and I can tell that they believed in their product. Of course, it helps that their magazine would be distributed to retailers that were all potentially my customers. For the very first time since we opened this business 9 years ago, we decided to take the plunge and pay for a half page ad in Seaside Retailer. We were amazed that we got four new customers at Surf Expo that came to our booth because of the ad. They volunteered the information that they saw the ad. We may have had other sales from the ad as well since we didn’t ask new customers how they found us. We also got two new customers during the COVID pandemic when we received phone orders from store owners who saw the ad in the spring issue. So happy Kristin and Karen found us.

Seaside Retailer has become an integral part of my marketing campaign, it allows me to reach buyers that I might not otherwise be able to meet around the country throughout the year and especially during this current pandemic. The staff is always great to work with.

While at the Philadelphia Gift Show in January 2020, I picked up a copy of Seaside Retailer magazine. This is the first publication that we had seen that specifically markets to many coastal retail shops beyond our reach. I called and spoke with them regarding placing our first ad, and after a wonderful phone conversation, we were assisted in designing our ad, which was published in the latest edition. Immediately we were contacted by a large rep group, and we have since contracted with them to carry our line in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and several other states that they cover. We have also received several emails from customers who had seen our ad and were looking for ordering information. As a small business, we had decided it was time to advertise, and we cannot say enough about the team at Seaside Retailer. We will most definitely be continuing to advertise in their magazine.

What Our Readers Say

Seaside Retailer has filled a void in the coastal boutique wholesale magazine market, offering trending and particularly Made in America artisan products. I enjoy the articles about fellow business owners around the country, reading how even if we are in different parts of the country, we are all going through the same ups and downs of owning a retail shop and being entrepreneurs. I look forward to receiving each issue to see what fun new items I can bring into my stores!

I just felt right at home with Seaside Retailer. I felt like it has always been a part of my life and that they really understand me. When I looked at the products, I saw many items that I carry in my store and knew the vendors. It’s nice to be spoken to in your own “language.” I felt like the whole region was represented well.

I really enjoy reading Seaside Retailer magazine. Not only does it get me up to date on the latest trends in the retail world, I have also found some great new lines for my stores! It is almost like attending market, you just do it from home.

So nice to finally have a publication specific to our needs! Seaside Retailer is a wealth of information and a great resource for both new and seasoned coastal theme retailers. I enjoy being able to see other shops like mine sharing insights and ideas. I’m looking forward to receiving next month’s issue!
