Lifestyle brand plans to continue to expand its footprint with more store openings in 2022.Sandy white beaches, fantastic fishing, diving and other water recreation are a few reasons why popular lifestyle brand Salt Life chose Sarasota for its newest retail store, marking its ninth Florida location. “We are excited about this location and dearly love the area,” says Salt Life President Jeff Stillwell. The Jacksonville Beach, Florida-based company founded in 2003 has grown a worldwide brand that says, “I live the Salt Life.” The Sarasota landscape has long served as inspiration for Salt Life, according to Stillwell who says “the atmosphere around St. Armands Circle is indeed special.” The St. Armands retail district features more than 130 boutiques, specialty shops, galleries and restaurants. The Salt Life brand has continued to expand since its inception, and stores are designed to embody the lifestyle, Stillwell says. “We strive to give our customers the entire Salt Life experience, and our retail doors allow our customers [to do that],” he says. The floors of the new store resemble water, and a focal point chandelier looks like a giant bait ball. “Salt Life appeals to people in a very personal way,” Stillwell says. “If you love fishing, that is your version of Salt Life. If you love to dive, surf, chill on the beach, etc., that is what Salt Life is to you.” In 2021, Salt Life recorded record retail growth and opened new doors in Texas and South Carolina. With Sarasota, the total store count is now 15. The company sells apparel, gear and accessories for men, women and children. The beach clothing shop is known for its logoed tees, hats, hoodies, jackets and an ever-evolving collection of casual, functional wares that dip into swimwear, tanks, sunglasses and dresses. No grand opening celebration is currently planned, but Stillwell says eyes are open for opportunities to host consumer events in spring and summer 2022. Plus, the company expects to continue growing its footprint by adding six to eight additional locations by year-end. “We are excited to get to know the Sarasota community,” says Stillwell. |
