The company is also launching a new wholesale freight structure to support retailers.

Mud Pie, a leading gift and home decor brand, has released its Spring 2027 Kids’ collection, and the vendor is finding that hand-painted kids’ decor and quilted accessories are top-of-mind for customers these days.

Gina Cullen, executive vice president of product development for Mud Pie, says mallards are also having a moment.

“The mallard icon has emerged as the most sought-after icon of the year,” she says. “We’ve woven it across apparel, plush, socks, blankets, bath toys and even a new birthday cake candle holder and picture frame. It’s become one of our most beloved icons season after season.”

Cullen says the company has also introduced new hand-painted door signs and hangers designed for baby milestones this spring. Five styles feature removable wood banners that can be personalized.

Quilted accessories are also trending. Cullen says Mud Pie’s quilted tote in its Spring 2027 Kids’ collection is both chic and practical.

“We love the all-purpose quilted tote, and we’ve designed a ‘weekender’ bag collection with matching bottle holders for the mom who’s always on the go,” she says.

Plush also remains a big component in the company’s Spring 2027 Kids’ collection. Cullen says the company has added horses, jungle critters, ocean friends and a ‘Class Pets’ collection this season.

“We’re also bringing back tooth-fairy items, including plush pals with pockets for baby teeth, cozy sweater knit pillows and adorable lit fairy doors that add magic to losing that first tooth,” she says.

In addition to the new Spring 2027 Kids’ collection, Mud Pie has launched a new wholesale freight matrix designed to lower costs for retail partners. As of Sept. 1, applicable wholesale accounts will receive new lower standard freight rates under the company’s new wholesale freight matrix.

“Freight costs have been unusually volatile in recent years, making it difficult for retailers to plan with confidence, and this new program is designed to provide greater consistency and value,” says Mark Smith, CEO of Mud Pie. “When we can use our scale to leverage better rates, we will always work to pass those savings directly to our partners, giving them more room to broaden assortments, reorder proven sellers and invest in the experiences that help their stores and communities thrive.”
