Seaside Retailer Executive Editor Kristin Ely will moderate sessions on data-driven decision making and purpose-driven product development.![]() The Las Vegas Souvenir & Resort Gift Show will offer educational sessions covering data, product development, team building and sustainable store design during its Oct. 6-9 show in Las Vegas. Sessions will take place at the Connection Corner, Booth #4100. “How to Use Your Data in Your Decision-Making Process,” taking place Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to noon, will explore how retailers can use business data to make smarter decisions about inventory, merchandising, marketing, staffing and purchasing. Kristin Ely, executive editor of Seaside Retailer and Souvenirs, Gifts & Novelties, will moderate a panel featuring Daniel Shoemaker of Feel Good Solutions; Angela Dalby of Charles Products Inc.; Kelly Jones of Great Escapes RV Resorts; and Nick Vieno of Cumberland Farms. “Building a High-Performing Team,” scheduled for Oct. 6 from 2-3 p.m., will offer strategies for hiring, developing and retaining employees while creating a culture that encourages engagement and productivity. Speakers include Shannon Sparks of Paradies; Mary Nickelson of Mall of America; Brad Smithling of Biltmore House; and Tommy Brown of Saint Louis Zoo. “Creating Products with Purpose: Aligning Development to Values-Driven Demand,” scheduled for Oct. 7 from 11 a.m. to noon, will explore how retailers and product developers can respond to consumer interest in merchandise tied to sustainability, local makers, charitable causes, cultural authenticity and responsible sourcing. Ely will moderate the discussion featuring Melissa Lew of Melissa Lew; Brown; Courtney Todd of Spirit Jersey; and Teresa Inman of Smith-Western. “Design Upcycling — Make the Scene with Green!” will take place Oct. 7 from 2-3 p.m. Brown will share ideas for using upcycling, repurposed fixtures, thrifted finds and unexpected materials to create engaging merchandising displays while reducing costs and supporting sustainability goals.
