Show organizers noticed a rising interest in eco-friendly products and custom-made goods.

The Ocean City Resort Gift Expo, which took place Nov. 13-15 in Ocean City, Maryland, offered attendees renewed energy, with both returning and new exhibitors that were excited to reconnect with the market. Show organizers shared that several exhibitors made their return to the show after a few years’ hiatus.

Both exhibitors and buyers appreciated the face-to-face interaction at the show, with many commenting on the value of in-person interactions.

“Exhibitors were pleased with the outcome of the show, with many reporting strong sales and successful meetings,” said Show Director Christina Bell. “Several noted the excellent networking opportunities and the solid connections made throughout the event.”

Bell added that show attendance was on par with 2023. A strong mix of attendees came from Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and Virginia. Buyers came from a variety of store types, including beach shops, resort boutiques, souvenir stores and general gift retailers.

Show organizers reported that some top product categories at the show included apparel, beach merchandise, books, candy, children’s items, custom-designed items, decorative accessories, furnishings, and eco-friendly or recycled products.

Attendees enjoyed the show’s assortment of coastal and beach-themed merchandise, reflecting the event’s location and growing popularity of resort and beach retail products. Bell added that there was increasing interest in eco-friendly and homemade products.

The show awarded Living In Glass Houses with its Best New Exhibitor award, which highlights the innovation and fresh offerings that new exhibitors bring to the show. The vendor offers a variety of fun, coastal-themed glass art and decor.

Ocean City Resort Gift Expo returns Nov. 16-18 at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center in Ocean City, Maryland.

“The Ocean City Resort Gift Expo continues to be a valuable platform for both exhibitors and buyers to build lasting business relationships,” Bell said. “We can’t wait for next year’s event!”
